Greeley publishes a pet licensing application through its resident resource directory. Start free screening for a separate clinical support question while confirming the exact record a housing recipient needs.
A short message can leave an important question unanswered: proof of what? Before buying another document or attaching an entire medical file, identify the fact the Greeley recipient is asking you to establish.
Could you identify the information you still need and the process this request relates to?
Different records answer different kinds of questions
| If the question is about… | Look at… | Do not infer… |
|---|---|---|
| Local dog or cat administration | The city’s license application and animal identification records. | That a license verifies a person’s disability or housing need. |
| An accommodation in the residence | The specific adjustment requested and relevant clinical information. | That an animal ID card supplies a clinical assessment. |
| A dog’s disability-related work | The actual action learned, its purpose, and reliable performance. | That general obedience establishes a trained psychiatric service task. |
A clinical review is useful for a clinical documentation question. It does not replace city licensing or teach a dog a task. The current ASA catalog lets you compare what each order actually includes.

Colorado Service Animals does not offer an ESA registry. A professional evaluation determines whether documentation is appropriate; optional cards and certificates do not establish access rights.

Prepare a plain account of the limitation you experience at home and how the animal helps with that limitation. The evaluator needs your own circumstances, not a generic paragraph copied from an advertisement.

For a psychiatric service-dog discussion, record observations of the trained behavior. These notes support an accurate conversation; they are not a self-issued public-access certificate.
What movement or response did the dog perform?
Which limitation was the behavior trained to address?
Where was it reliable, and what still requires training?

No. It documents a local administrative matter, not the individual disability-related need for an animal in housing.
Ask them to identify the information relevant to the request. Distinguishing identity, accommodation support, and trained work helps avoid unnecessary disclosure or unrelated purchases.
A Greeley ESA application concerns disability-related support in the home. Municipal identification records may be relevant to responsible ownership, but they cannot explain the person’s functional need.
A psychiatric service dog is described through individually trained work for a person with a disability. General obedience and the ability to wear a tag do not answer that trained-work question.
Use the current city application to identify its requested information. Keep clinical history with the appropriate health professional rather than adding it to an unrelated municipal submission.
Ask the issuer to review the specific mistake and provide a corrected version where appropriate. Do not edit a signed clinical statement yourself or silently change what was sent to a housing reviewer.
Greeley record-planning information, current as of October 2026, for residents comparing municipal and clinical documents. It is not legal advice. Local authority rules can change; confirm instructions with the responsible city office and housing reviewer. Identifying the difference between an ESA and a PSD does not guarantee that your application will support a letter. CSA is unaffiliated with Greeley government, courts and property associations. For support during a crisis, call or text 988 .
Find another Colorado documentation topicWhen the missing information concerns your need for animal support, the next useful record comes from an individual assessment.
An ESA housing review considers the need connected to that animal; it does not issue a municipal license.
The multiple-animal option gives the clinician each animal's circumstances rather than treating a second name as automatic approval.
A PSD review addresses the clinical documentation question. Training and reliable disability-related work remain separate requirements.
These additional items do not create access rights, establish clinical need or prove completed training.
Before sending a Greeley recipient a bundle of records, clarify the question being asked. The appropriate clinical assessment can address documentation without turning a license or badge into broader evidence.
